Gilberto Alaniz, MD, was awarded the degree of specialist in General Surgery by the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. He did his practices in one of the most recognized institutions of Mexico, the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología [National Institute of Cancerology]. He has taken different postgraduate courses in nutrition, administration and senior management of hospitals, all of them at the Technological Institute and Higher Studies of Monterrey (ITESM as per the acronym in Spanish), and at the University of Guadalajara (UAG).
Among his specialties, the one that stands out is the postgraduate course in Hair Micro Transplant with the FUE Technique, in which he combines his skills and knowledge as a specialist in surgery along with the hair restoration art. This specialty allows him to perfectly understand the hair, tissue and skin structure and physiology, being these relevant factors involved in the extraction, extra-corporeal conservation, insertion, healing, and growth process of every hair unit, successfully assuring the correct development of the implanted hair.
The Mexican Association of Cosmetic Surgery (Asociación Mexicana de Cirugía Cosmética) has certified him as one of the best specialists around the world using this technique; in addition to being recognized and certified by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). Currently, he is Head Professor of the Hair Micro Transplant Master Degree of Cosmetic Surgery given by the Instituto Iberoamericano de Postgrados Médicos and the National Mexican Association of Cosmetic Medicine (ANME as per the acronym in Spanish).
